myGolfscorer uses Stableford Points to compare one round result with others. Even if you do not play Stableford golf games myGolfscorer can use your scores to calculate Stableford points to aid analysis.
Points are awarded for the net score on each hole. The net score is the actual score less a shot if the player’s handicap entitles him to one or more. Shots are given on each hole according to the individuals handicap.
A handicap of 18 receives 1 stroke per hole. A handicap of 9 receives 9 shots, 1 on each hole with a stroke index between 1 and 9. A handicap of 28 receives 2 shots on each of the 10 holes with a stroke index between 1 and 10 and 1 shot on each of the other 8 holes. Total 28. A handicap of 1 receives 1 shot on stroke index 1 hole. A handicap of 0 receives no shots. A handicap of –2 (known as plus 2) receives a minus shot on stroke index 17 and 18.
The net score for a hole is the number of strokes taken less any shots received. So 5 shots taken less 1 shot received is a net 4.
