PAR is the expected standard number of strokes to be taken from the tee to holing the ball. The PAR for each hole is set by the Golf Club and is recorded on its score card. PAR is always greater than ZERO. You can enter PARs of 3, 4, 5, 6, or 7 in myGolfscorer.
TARGET PUTTS is the target number of putts in a round. Generally this would be the number of shots targeted to be taken on the putting green, use of the putter from off the green would not be counted in putting statistics. But you can choose to include them if you prefer. To provide the best analysis be consistent in your recording of the many different types of shot in a round of golf. For Example if you target to take an average of 2 putts on each hole on an 18 hole course your target would be 36 putts. The very best players would perhaps target 25 to 28 putts per 18 hole round. The Target number of Putts is used in myGolfscorer to provide putting performance statistics and analysis.
